We are a family with generational roots in Wichita, Kansas. We love our hometown and our hometown team (Go Shockers!) but we also look for opportunities to travel. New Mexico has become a treasured destination for us.
Our family of five started traveling to Angel Fire almost 15 years ago. Our children all learned to ski and snowboard here. We fell in love with the family friendly atmosphere and the small, but rarely crowded, ski mountain. As our kids are growing up we really value their love of Angel Fire and the mountain activities that we all share. Even as they grow into lives of their own we imagine that they will prioritize family time, together, at Angel Fire.
For approximately eight years we have also visited Angel Fire in the summer. It is such a nice break from the incessant Kansas heat. Angel Fire has really ramped up their summer activities on the mountain by building a stunning zip line and providing comprehensive mountain biking opportunities. However, our favorite things might be playing golf and tennis at the country club - which is open to the public. Another thing that is really enjoyable is white water activities in nearby Taos.
Again, the summer weather couldn’t be more perfect for getting outdoors. The community has also grown in activity, sponsoring a weekly farmer’s market and seasonal art and book fairs.
New Mexico is called “the land of enchantment” and Angel Fire is part of the region known as “the enchanted circle”. It’s safe to say we are enchanted as well.
